Attended the launch of the Red Alert 3 game yesterday. 7 years since the last Red Alert and the defeat of the Soviets in Red Alert 2 and Yuri in Red Alert 2: Yuri’s Revenge. 7 years later, EA makes a return to the franchise. Only this time, there another power that’s come to the forefront.

Turning 20, what a number! Though most would gripe about their age at this point, i’ll spare you the hum-drum and instead take a look at what i’ve done for the last twenty years tell you my sordid twenty-year history.

Kidding.

Today’s program:

1. Attending the Red Alert 3 launch.

2. Dinner with some friends( not with the family this year, everyone planned to go away but my dad cancelled his diving trip due to bad weather).

My blog is more or less back to the usual stuff now. New banners and some tweaks to the plugins i was using before. Hopefully, another incident such as this won’t happen for a long time in the near future.

More optimizations to come soon. Running Akismet somehow causes a slowdown so it’s off for now. I’ll bring it back once i do some work and troubleshooting.

Happened to watch the latest episode of House last night and i had a rude? no… pleasant surprise.

Frankly, i wasn’t expecting ANYTHING from this week’s episode of House Season 5, but what a shockah!

So apparently there was an issue at the hosting linkin and i were using and we got rickrolled.

Now my blog’s back, albeit, rather empty because of Linkin reuploaded the entire blog except the configs so i’m busy reuploading my current theme before the outage and plugins.

As it is, it’s running extremely slowly so if you do visit, please have some patience as it’ll take >10s to load.

Had spare half an hour today before leaving for class so i decided to ninja some shots of my mum’s glass ’shrooms.

The EXIF data is missing for the last two shots and i think it’s because of my noise filter program.

On another note, i finally gave in and decided to register in BukuMuka aka Facebook.  You can add me as James Liew. Hell… going to need Facebook sooner or later as i’ve got a group project similar to what Facebook is all about.

My registration for media passes to AFA08 doesn’t seem to be a smooth ride all the way and all i can do is hope for the best as the person-in-charge, Florence says she’ll get a colleague who handles media registration to contact me next week. Fingers crossed, it’ll all go well.

Kurogane no Linebarrel

Word of warning, huge deviation from the manga. If you’ve read the manga and enjoyed it(as i have) you’ll undoubtedly want to shoot Gonzo in the head, decapitate it, stuff it in an oven and then bury it somewhere where no one would find it. Sure it’s got a nice soundtrack but even that can’t save it.

Aside from the character designs from Hirashi Hirai(lol Gundam Seed) and a nice soundtrack, the anime is totally different from the manga as stated earlier.

1. There is NO boob-grab in the manga to summon Linebarrel.
2. There IS Hayase in “i-am-captain-planet-justice” mode but he’s not so much of an asshole in the manga like he is in the anime.
3. He doesn’t become a Factor through Linebarrel falling on him when he’s cycling back from buying curry bread. Instead Linebarrel fell on him 3 years ago and he went into a coma.
4. Emi doesn’t make herself known to him until the later stages in vol4-5 when she summons Linebarrel herself.

Shikabane Aka

Cue in the usual supernatural beings and whatnot and you’ve got yourself a pretty generic anime. No fizzles and sizzles nor the usual “FAIL!!!” but if you’re looking for something to pass the time with, this is the anime you might want to take a look at.
