Cosfest IX: Let’s make LEDs

Having been the first event I’ve been to proper since returning to Malaysia 3-4weeks ago, it was a pleasant trip down to Singapore to pay a visit to Cosfest IX, having not gone there last year as I had committed to *ahem* Daicon.

Overall, a pleasant and wonderful event, meeting new people and catching up with the old. Had the chance to try out the 14-54mm on my cousin’s E-3 finally, and it was superb! I also borrowed his 50-200 f2.8-3.5 and 50 f2.0 to try out.

The main rants I’ve had over the last 2 days and hours were the amount of *cough* traps you could find on Day One. The photographers as usual, outmatched the number of cosplayers and you could see photogs taking photos of cosplayers literally EVERYWHERE! That aside, the ACM representative for Malaysia from Penang, a certain ‘man’ by the name of Tan Yee Gim, is an utter SHAME to crossplayers in Malaysia. As to how he actually won the ACM competition for Malaysia, I HAVE NO IDEA but his skit… was… terrible. Man-Cirno was also there on both days. What was THE MOST awesome part of crossplay was Dai coming as ZeroZero from Umineko on Day Two… God… I.HAVE.NEVER.SEEN.A.MAN.SO.FREELY.SHOW.HIS.CROTCH(SMOOTH).AND.BUTT.

Seriously, his skirt barely protected his butt. But damn, as much as I hate it as a guy to admit this… he was rockin’ it out!

The WCS Singapore finals was won by the FF13 duo which consisted of a Bahamut and Fang(I never played FF13, so not familiar). Winner of the ACM Best Cosplayer in Asia went to the Kos-Mos cosplayer from Phillipines.

The main pet peeve I’ve had which I’ve mentioned to Dai, Sean, Reno and my cousin… well… we’ll leave that for another article.

I’ve updated the Flickr set to reflect the new photos that have been uploaded. So feel free to take a look at the photos.
